Is artificial grass suitable for children?
If your children are adventurous in the garden, you will of course be concerned about their health and safety. With a garden or patio covered in artificial grass, there is no need to worry. Artificial grass is non-toxic and lead-free, kind to the skin, extremely hygienic, free of mud and puddles … You can read more details in our blog, which describes eight reasons why artificial grass is safe for children.
Is artificial grass suitable for animals?
Don’t worry: in some cases, artificial grass is actually better for pets than natural grass. Our four-legged friends are not shy of going to the toilet, which of course damages natural grass or turns it brown. Choose artificial grass and do away with that extra work caused by your pets. Read about all the advantages of artificial grass for animals in our blog describing 8 ways artificial grass pampers pets and prevents lawn hassles.
Can artificial grass discolour?
Thanks to UV stabilisers, artificial grass will maintain its vibrant green colour even in the sunniest of summers. And in contrast to natural grass, artificial grass can also be installed in shaded areas, so you'll never have to worry about bald patches in your lawn again.
Is artificial grass environmentally friendly?
Most people do not realise that artificial grass is environmentally friendly. In contrast to natural grass, artificial grass doesn’t need watering, of course. Not only do you not waste any water with artificial grass, you also can avoid using fertilisers or pesticides. Furthermore, there is no air pollution through fuel-driven mechanical equipment such as lawnmowers. Finally, artificial grass is low-maintenance meaning you save a lot of time, money and effort in the long term compared to natural grass.
How do I choose the right pile height for artificial grass?
One factor that is often forgotten when starting a project is the pile height of the artificial grass. The pile height refers to the length of the blades of grass, measured from the turf backing to the tip of the grass.
The right pile height for your project depends on the purpose. How intensively will the artificial grass be used? For example, contact sports such as football and rugby require other solutions than a private lawn with little foot traffic. The appearance also plays a significant role. What should your artificial grass look like? Some prefer short, neat blades, while others like slightly longer artificial grass with a sumptuous look.
Read all about it in our blog that discusses the best length or pile height for artificial grass. If you need help from a recognised Turfgrass installer, don’t hesitate to look for one near you!
Does artificial grass help against allergies?
Artificial grass can have a positive effect on your allergies, as it is made of materials that do not contain allergens. It isn’t a miracle cure of course, but installing artificial grass can make your garden pollen-free and keep pollens at bay. Read all about the benefits of artificial grass for people with allergies in our blog.
Can artificial grass melt?
With normal use and under normal circumstances, artificial grass will not melt, not even on a very sunny day with extreme temperatures. Indeed, artificial grass is also perfect for installation in areas around the equator.
However, artificial grass can get damaged, and, in some circumstances, can be melted by ash or cinders from a BBQ or grill. Direct contact with red-hot materials will melt the blades of grass. Here, you can read how you can replace a damaged piece of artificial grass so that your lawn looks as good as new.
